About The Wedding Fairy

 

The Wedding Fairy was launched in March 2007 as the wedding services arm to Eventure Limited, a Guernsey based event management company.

 

The Wedding Fairy is headed up by Lorraine Lane (picture shown). Lorraine, 51, has lived in Guernsey for 33 years and is married to a local fisherman. She is very much a ‘people person’ and for 15 years has given home to a number of Alderney children who are attending school in Guernsey.

 

Lorraine’s career background is extensive and wide ranging and she has developed a huge number of key skills through secretarial work, book keeping, IT and administration and even dressmaking – she has made three wedding dresses including her own.  With her background in these areas her organisational skill and attention to detail is impeccable.

 

Lorraine worked with Kat Gillespie, Managing Director of Eventure Limited, within the finance industry for just over ten years and it was during that time that Kat launched the Eventure concept.  As Eventure grew, Kat and Lorraine would talk a lot about how to take the business forward and as enquiries into wedding services increased, the progression into wedding planning was a logical step. With Lorraine taking hold of the reigns and driving the wedding business forward, the Wedding Fairy proved to be an incredible success.

 

Lorraine has managed to build an all-inclusive yet adaptable service that is sure to suit the needs of every bride and groom. “I offer a personal, friendly service, based on the couples own idea’s and provide just the amount of assistance they require,” she said. “Most couples want to be hands-on in organising their own wedding, but may need help in the last few days and on the day itself so that they have time to spend with family, safe in the knowledge that everything they have organised will be perfect on the day”.

 

“I also offer a fuller guidance service which is particularly useful for couples who do not live on Island, where I handle everything from supplier co-ordination and entertainment to transport and budget. Design and Décor at the Reception venue is my favourite thing to do. I am a very creative person and love transforming a nice room into a fantastic one.  I colour co-ordinate the venue to match the couples colour scheme and to express their own inspiration.”

 

Lorraine absolutely loves being ‘The Wedding Fairy’ and thrives on sharing in the happiness of her clients’ big day.
