About The Wedding Fairy


The Wedding Fairy was launched in March 2007 as the wedding services arm to a local Event Management Company, headed up by myself, Lorraine Lane.

Following a tremendously successful 3 years, during which the business has thrived and evolved into a full service provider, I was delighted to acquire sole ownership of The Wedding Fairy in September 2010, and to make the exciting move to new premises at “In Any Event”, Contrée Mansell, St Peter Port, accompanied by Kate Wood of Favourit.


I have had the privilege to live in Guernsey for 35 years and am married to a local fisherman. I am very much a ‘people person’ and for 17 years have given a home to a number of Alderney children who are attending school in Guernsey.


My career background is extensive and wide ranging and I have developed a huge number of key skills through secretarial work, book keeping, IT and administration and even dressmaking – having made three wedding dresses including my own.  With my background in these areas my organisational skills and attention to detail is impeccable. 

Since the inception of The Wedding Fairy, I have gained the knowledge and experience required to enable the attainment of the Advanced Diploma in Professional Wedding Planning and Event Management, awarded by The Wedding Planner School UK. I am currently the ONLY active holder of this Diploma in the Channel Islands.


I have managed to build an all-inclusive yet adaptable service that is sure to suit the needs of every bride and groom. I offer a personal, friendly service, based on the couples own ideas and provide just the amount of assistance they require. Most couples want to be hands-on in organising their own wedding, but may need help in the last few days and on the day itself so that they have time to spend with family, safe in the knowledge that everything they have organised will be perfect on the day.


I also offer a fuller guidance service which is particularly useful for couples who do not live on Island, or who’s hectic lifestyle leaves them little free time to attend to the myriad details that make a perfect wedding day. I am able to handle everything from supplier co-ordination and entertainment to transport and budget. My favourite aspect is Design and Décor at the Reception venue. I am a very creative person and love transforming a nice room into a fantastic one.  I colour co-ordinate the venue to match the couples colour scheme and to express their own inspiration. My experience tells me that every wedding is different – every couple have wonderful ideas of how they wish the day to be and I am only too happy to oblige – I do not believe in saying “it can’t be done”
